Marjorie TietjenNot long after Marjorie received a B.S. in nutrition, from The State University of New York at Oneonta, she was married and moved to Killingworth, CT. She and her husband raised two sons who are now grown and recently married. In 1989 Marjorie became very ill and was totally incapacitated for a period of time. She was given the diagnosis of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). Still sick 8 years later, it was discovered that Lyme disease and Babesiosis (a malaria like tick borne disease) were at the root of most of her problems. Marjorie found a Lyme knowledgeable doctor, began treatment and started the long hard road to recovery. She is still on that road, but nowadays her world looks much brighter. Although Marjorie is not totally cured, her health has improved dramatically and she feels that life seems as if it is just beginning. For the past several years Marjorie has been writing articles (which can be found on the web and in Public Health Alert) for the purpose of getting people to think, to try and uncover the reasons why humanity is allowed to suffer so. "Sometimes we have to ask difficult questions in order to get to the root of the problem". For about a year now Marjorie has been writing book reviews for www.Bookpleasures.com . Her interest lies in reviewing books which have been written with the intent to help others. She has witnessed that despite the severe discord our world is experiencing, there is a growing number of people who are sincerely working together to lessen the world's suffering. She believes that anything can be accomplished when we have the right motives. Marjorie doesn't have any particular plan to write a book of her own but she is interested in helping other authors to passionately express themselves. A couple of months ago she was synchronistically connected with an author who has a strong desire to improve people's health through nutrition. She has been asked to edit his book "Healing our Children: A Revolutionary Guide to Preconception, Pregnancy and Early Childhood Health" by Rami Nagel. Marjorie is also helping to revise his published book "Cure Tooth Decay: Heal and Prevent Cavities with Nutrition". She feels that these are both very important books and shares with us this thought… "The disintegration of our diet is one of the basic causes of the pain and dysfunction we are collectively experiencing in our society." Rami Nagel bases much of the information he shares, on the works of Dr. Weston Price. The Price Pottenger Nutrition Foundation was organized to preserve the monumental classic research of Dr. Price and Dr. Francis Pottenger. Marjorie is currently contributing book reviews and articles to the Foundation's quarterly journal and she encourages anyone who is interested in achieving true health, to visit their website, www.ppnf.org . Although Marjorie always loved art, she never believed she had talent of her own until relatives talked her into taking painting lessons with a new artist. The artist's name is Brendan Loughlin and he named his revolutionary system.... "PASTAC". Marjorie has been taking lessons with Brendan for approximately three years. While Marjorie feels she is still not naturally talented as an artist, she is enjoying the classes immensely and has played a small role in helping Brendan become nationally known. To read the amazing story of a man who was once homeless and is now becoming one of the hottest painters in the art world, please visit the links below. Loughlin's intent is to do his part in bringing joy and hope to the world. Take a peek at his paintings and see if they don't make you feel just a bit more joyful! Marjorie feels that together we can make a difference. http://www.yankeemagazine.com/issues/2008-01/features/stilllifes http://www.digitalwink.com/wink-art.html Articles by Marjorie Tietjen:A Husband, A Wife and an Illness: Living Life Beyond Chronic Illness Nature's
